I've moved my blog. Unfortunately a lot of content is trapped at Vox, but I've got everything else back to 2001. http://leoville.com/blog

That is one of the problems with Six Apart hosted stuff. It is a battle to migrate away because you can't access your uploads directly. I also don't think Vox allows for post exports.

Any hosted app has that problem. Hmm, maybe I should think about doing something similar.

Looks great! And it reminds me - how's Ozzy doing?

That's exactly why I always host my own blog.

It doesn't make sense to me that users should be prevented from exporting or downloading their uploaded content. 37 Signals makes that option available so if you decide to leave, you are not held hostage.

@phoneboy well, not sure what you refer to, but livejournal at least is exportable, tho it is more because it had been done so ages before they were made part of 6A

LiveJournal, even though it's controlled by SixApart. Very good API behind it, though.

I'd been thinking about making the move too. I installed Wordpress a long time ago but never did anything with it. Now I want to but can't figure out how to migrate my content from Vox. How did you do it Leo? I'd REALLY appreciate knowing as I can find NOTHING about it on the web. If anyone else knows, I'm all ears!
