I want to upgrade to Wordpress 2.3 but it's throwing MySQL errors over the new tag fields. I guess I'll have to do an offline upgrade first.

Leo, did you remember to disable all the Plugins before upgrading? And did you remember to run "http://<your blog url>/wp-admin/upgrade.php after you uploaded the latest version of Wordpress onto your server?
I haven't tried it myself, but for future upgrades the link Wordpress Automatic Upgrade plugin seems to be a good solution for upgrade issues because it disables plugins then makes a backup of important stuff, just in case.

I was about to caution about Wordpress phoning home with user info, but Slashdot posted a correction from Wordpress -- it's only checking for updates.
