the 'gPhone' will be a mobile operating system of sorts, not an actual phone handset. Manufacturers will be encouraged to use it. Tough job, seeing as Nokia owns Symbian Series 60 and Sony Ericsson owns Symbian UIQ. Maybe a dual booting option will appear. Expects ads ;)
Money savings plan: run jaiku on a refurb treo and simply carry around an actual brick as a reminder of my old iPhone. You knwo if Steve sold Apple bricks, Leo would buy one!

I wonder if this means the gPhone will be a Series 60 device then? Wouldn't that be something?

I hear it's going to be called a J-phone with a MaxRoam two-number SIM installed out of the box.

Hey Leo, what do you make of Jaiku being bought by Gooooooooogle? Maybe you'll get Jaiku on your Gphone after all!

and it'll be.... lets see, blue... and come with "octopus' garden" and "I am the walrus" and other favorites preloaded.... heh.
amen, though. I'd just be happy if everyone just shut up and picked one presence service, but I guess lighting couldn't strike twice for Ev

To bad Goku is already associated with DragonBall Z maybe GooKu will make a better name for the Jaiku app on the gPhone.

I'd really just like Jaiku on my Blackberry. And I'd like it to pick up presence location from GPS, too. Hop to it Jyri! :)

How about Gku?. What kind of phone? voip and wi-fi, GPS? space on the 700 MHz band looking more likely. how cool will this be?

I think GPS is pretty vital. An open API for using assisted GPS on a phone would make for some amazing applications.

Really looking forward to the gPhone. Its going to be free right? and more open than the iPhone, and uses wifi for calls when possible?
