I'm done with ustream.tv. Interesting idea, but impossible to implement for the numbers TWiT and The Tech Guy push.

Good on you for trying Leo...great idea but I tried to get on there to watch the taping of the Giz Wiz and it froze...so ONCE AGAIN, the "Leo Effect" kills a great idea! :-)

indeed, it has never showed me your stream. Maybe put the spycam back on, that was funny :)

You tried Stickam? (www.stickam.com) One example of it being implemented in a website is http://cam.freetalklive.com/ This page chooses to mute the audio so you tune in on radio or use the stream, but it does sound as well as stream video.

For net@nite, I watched Amber's ustream and Leo's, but had to listen to talkshoe.

Another day, another server taken down. You're taking down more sites than the MPAA, Leo. Your job here is done..

Well it was fun while it lasted. Funny, I watched both the Giz Wiz and MacBreak Weekly tapings and it worked fine for me. But I saw lots of posts from others who said they couldn't get it to load. Hopefully ustream.tv can learn from this experience and do whatever it takes to increase their capacity.

Is this a case of over promising and under delivering?

yeah, i didn't think they expected it to explode so fast, but hey that's Leo :D

But Scott compare this to Talkshoe, there were many problems when Leo started, but they never made claims they couldn't live up too. They claim they could handle 15,000 people, but only ever delivered 10% of that supposed capability.

Leo, I am listening to net@nite right now, and you are talking about presence. I love Twitter, and I find it hard to switch to Jaiku. Maybe I am just too lazy to add all my RSS feeds :) I will do it now.

Thanks for handling the Virginia Tech tragedy so well. I am a Hokie, and I have been busy with a site I started called Planet Blacksburg. I am glad you like your VT machine, I wish I snatched one up.

This was my impression also after the attempt to stream PodcastHotel a few weeks back.

I love the idea behind ustream.tv but it has never really worked for me. The audio plays fine but the video is glitchy and terrible. The technology just isn't there yet...give it time.

Oh well Leo at least you tried. But perhaps one day there will be a service that can allow us to watch the show properly in real time.

honestly, i'm glad you're ditching it, the entire radio chat turns into people reporting whether the camera is up or down or talking like you're a trained monkey when it's on... It's fun for small groups, though.

At least you tried it, Leo. Always good to keep up with new technologies.

I like the idea of you having video podcasts Leo, but I also like that your podcasts are easy to download, and they are easier for you to put out on a consistent bases since audio podcasts are easier to do. What happened to Twit for this week???? I was looking forward to hearing it monday morning when I ussually download it.

I'm sorry to hear that you decided to stop using ustream. I have enjoyed the past two Sunday afternoons. Hopefully Ustream.tv Beta 2 will work well enough to use. It added a whole new element to the show, I really enjoyed seeing the behind the scenes stuff, sometimes even more than the show itself.
