Wow, that's good news. I really enjoy your Jaikus! :)
I can totally understand how you feel about the friend issue. I'm really torn between Facebook and the German clone StudiVZ which is an awful site compared to FB, but all my German friends are on it... Ah well, no reason you can't use both, eh? Except maybe time contraints, which I gues might be a biggie for you...
Well I'm also wondering what's going to happen to Jaiku. It's now a closed system and that makes it less interesting. I will probably phase out Pownce though and stick to Twitter and Jaiku.
I must admit Pownce has totally failed to grab my attention...it seems to full of teenagers and diggers. With the longer posts and other features it has the potential to be a place for better microblogging and decent conversation. But in the end it isn't about features, its about community.
I agree. It seems like the community on Jaiku has "tightened up" - meaning become closer. I still use Twitter due to SMS functionality, but as soon as Google gets a .us short code for the Jaiku guys, I'm probably off Twitter for good.
I got the feeling that the Jaiku door got closed so Google could get a handle on what they had. But I've been wrong before. Opp's just remembered, got to clean the barn this morning. Any volunteers? .... Thought not ;-)
Leo - do you have, suggest, and/or have a project in the works - that'll show people how to get the most out of Jaiku (And other Social Networking / Web 2.0 Sites)?
I may have missed something in the last week (our first child was born and I kinda lost a week) but as I understand it, Jaiku is closed temporarily. I am expecting to see it emerge as part of a bigger Google initiative.

Why not post to both simultaneously? I'm using IMified to do that.

jaiku is actually great - the problem is more people prefer to use twitter and make jaiku get the feed from twitter!

I think closing Jaiku was a big mistake. Whatever the reasons for that....

I think you might be looking at the calm before the storm. Trust Google to work some of their magic and you'll see things start to pick up.

Why not your friends switch to Jaiku?? Are they afraid to change?? I am one of those who switch to Jaiku and i love it (Better than Twitter)

I just installed a plugin for Quicksilver that posts simultaneously to twitter and jaiku. Want it?
