I've heard great things about this product but haven't checked it out yet.

You seem to be a juhu man nowadays... and I don't blame you for that, it is a must have for all the Mac-enabled Jaikunauts.

Their product line looks like a copy of Grisoft's AVG line. No Vista Support. Guess I'll keep the Pee Cee off.

I asked him that - Vista broke a lot of the features and they're working on a port but it won't be done until later this year.

Is it just me, or does it seem that developers are less than enthusiastic about porting things to Vista.

I see...well, I took the plunge with Vista Ultimate last month so I'll have to pass on Blink for my machine...but if I still had XP, I'd be all over the "Free" AV! What I will do is load it up on my wife's 'puter...she still has XP and is running free AVG...the wife ALWAYS loves it when I get geeky and mess with her laptop! :-)

Hmmm, guess there's a lot of truth to the latest Vista Party Apple ad.

@Randysouth: Seems that way to me, too...maybe it harder to port over to Vista from XP than say it was for XP or 2000 from win98?

If Microsoft wanted to really secure a system, why didn't they just modernize Xenix?

Throw out your PC and get a Mac or a Linux.. hehe :) I use a PC and a Mac so don't flame me

I use a Linux box almost exclusively, and a Win2K box because iTunes hasn't been ported to it.

@evansims: Compatiblity is a non-problem in a locked enviroment. Take a look at the Wine project (winehq.org) and it's derivatives -- that runs a hefty chunk of Windows software in Linux as a regular user. Is Wine complete? No, there's alot of work left to do, but by golly you can run World of Warcraft on it very well.

So it gets back to the origional question. Microsoft has all the API's for all it's software, and we know it's possible to run the software in a x86 Unix enviroment. Why not follow Apple's lead (they switched to being BSD based) and update Xenix? They should still have that code lying around...
