Wow, But, least you know what is, and the vet told you how to manage it in the future. So.... give Ozzy his favorite snack, favorite toy, and favorite La Porte family member, and Ozzy will know that everything is ok in his world......But, seriously, Ozzy is sooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!
I have had maybe dozens of animals in my time, and only a few needed "special attention". But I've never regretted a minute of that time. And I'm a hard nosed old curmudgeon. You, on the other hand seem to be ha nice guy with a wonderful family, so I have no doubts Ozzy will have a long happy life. Thanks for keeping us updated.
Thats good news leo about Ozzy...We have a 11 yr old Greyhound that is epileptic and his seizures are controlled with phenobarbital...his seizures are controlled and less severe...may also look at diet less soy and corn meal..there are articles about diet and epilepicy.
Yeah, that's what I kinda thought. As I mentioned before my dog has that as well. The worst part about the Pheno (provided that's the drug Oz was prescribed) is that you have to give it on a fixed schedule twice a day. Sometimes this can be cumbersome when you are away from the house. Great to hear that Ozzy is fine though.
All our animals have had some type of special needs. But I love them just the same. Had a dog with epilepsy. He did quite well for a long time.
We have our beagle and cat boarded while we are out of town. Expensive...plus little cat had her canine tooth pulled today. Had to call from trip to chek on her.
Leo I don't know how you travel so much. I have been gone 2 days and I so miss home. Packing all my medical supplies, stuff, trip, = pain.

Unfortunately for Ozzy phenobarbital doesn't have any 'fun' sideeffects.

Thanks for the update, Leo! Hopefully the fact it was caught early will help in the long term. Give the pup a hug for us, ok?

Glad to hear it's a manageable condition. It's always a relief to at least know what the issue is.

My first pup I ever had was epileptic, but it was manageable even without meds. Much better news than a bad liver.

It's Karma Leo. shows you and your family were meant for that dog. You will love him and care for him regardless...others might not.

Good that you know what's wrong and it's controllable. That news must've lifted a lot of worry for you all :)

He's home now and frisky and bright eyed. He's feeling so much better. The prognosis is very good. Hallelujah!
