It's actually no that big of a deal if you are smart about it. You messaged me and I can see some of your profile but not your contact info or your wall, only your resume and your friends (which I could see anyway).
ross: idea on facebook is that not everyone can see your drunken pictures. therefore has lots of fine-grained privacy settings, site even warns you before poking a stranger.
I've had a Facebook profile a short while. I'm just now experimenting with all this Web 2.0 stuff. But I still don't know what a "poke" is or how it works. Can someone clue me in?

i like that idea, i think i should change to facebook from myspace...but I only just got my myspace profile up and going...i'm so behind the trends ;)

I've just started using Facebook and I'm really impressed with the various privacy settings. You can actually adjust what a poke will expose.
