    Try to rebuild the partition table using Disk Warrior or something like that.

    Leo; you might want to use the original drive and just enable ssh on the appletv (you could've done this without opening up the atv). I'm mounting my movie share from my windows server. So there's no need for a 160gb harddrive :)
