NOT NUDGE.....boolean opposite....Leo, when are you and the gang going to do an East Coast gig? How about during the grand opening of the Boston Apple store? MacBreak Weekly/Twit/Net@nite all in Boston!! Let me know, I'll help
Literally, I agree with pull, or my first thought, tug. But in the context of Twitter, perhaps dodge as the popular vote says, or just plain ignore or snub. :)
beckon? You nudge someone, you have contact with them...You beckon, they may see or not, react or not...It's just out there, a bit like a Jaiku or Twitter!
nudge is to get someone's attention (in a nice small way, not tugging at someone). Snub or dodge is to NOT get someone's attention. Ah! Hide... perhaps that's it.
It's all academic without a context (although it's probably a safe guess that Merlin's thinking of nudge in a twitter context). I originally thought tug but I like muzzle, or perhaps maybe even snooze (a la alarm clocks - silence for a predetermined period of time)
@mikejolley: "nudge" implies movement to me was well. I think of it as a gentle but stacatto push. In twitter, isn't a nudge a gentle prod to someone to update? That's still movement isn't it? To my mind, the opposite is to restrict movement or updates instead of soliciting them, hence why I like muzzle or snooze.
I think that an action that is opposite of a nudge would probably be a tug, because a nudge is an action with positive movement, and a tug is one with similar magnitude with negative movement.

maybe a "wink"? nah - that's usually along with a nudge. try ?dodge", yeah, that would work ;)

How about something like "tug"? Not quite as forceful as something like "yank", same as nudge isn't quite as forceful as push or shove.

Despite my early failed attempts at humor, I'll have to agree with "dodge" as the antithesis of "nudge". excellent choice xaxwanatabe

nudge is to solicit presence activity, "muzzle" to quell it.

I'd actually go with tug like thegreenman says.

As "tug", "pull" and "yank" are all words implying movement, wouldn't the true opposite be something like "avoid"

Technically, there is no opposite or antonym to nudge
