We watched the Perseids one Aug night when I was a kid-it was pretty awe inspiring then, and this display is supposed to be a cut above the norm! Problem was, our Scoutmaster still made up get up at 6:30 A.M. that morning! :)
LA has so much light pollution that it is tough to see any stars, but there have been moments of success in the past. Thanks for the 'heads up.'
At least no moon tonight. Best memory of '94 Northridge quake was standing outside with neighbors in the dark and looking up. Wow. It was the only time LA was really dark. Don't need that to happen again though.
